Suzanne Bassett
Artistic Director
Suzanne Bassett was born in Dublin.
When she was a young girl her family re-settled in Nova Scotia. At school she was greatly interested in literature and drama. She and NOL co-director Andrew Ager met when they were teenagers in Nova Scotia and often discussed these themes, little knowing that they would form an opera company years later.
Suzanne attended Kings College, Halifax, where she directed plays and sang in the Chapel Choir. She made her opera directorial debut in 2019 with productions of Andrew Ager's "Frankenstein" and "Scrooge's Christmas". She looks forward to directing this season's premiere of Ager's "The Great Gatsby".
