Adam Nelson (Concert Master / Violin I)
Concert violinist and teacher Adam Nelson started violin at the age of 5 in the small town of Port Elgin where he grew up. After finishing his undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, and his Masters in Violin Performance at University of Ottawa, he settled with his wife in the Barrhaven area. Aside from performing with major ensembles such as the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Nelson runs a large private violin studio, with many of his students winning top honours at major Canadian music festivals. Additionally, he manages his music company, Capital Music Productions, which provides performance services for events all across the National Capital Region.

Sara Mastrangelo (Violin II)
Sara Mastrangelo is an avid performer, violin teacher and string ensemble coach. She has been a member of several orchestras and now serves as first violinist of Ottawa's Thirteen Strings and regular substitute violinist with the National Arts Centre Orchestra since 2013.  Her current teaching positions include Performance Instructor at Carleton University and Teacher/Coach at Suzuki Violin West Ottawa, where she also serves as Artistic Director.

 

Mastrangelo is active as a chamber musician, performing regularly at Music and Beyond (Ottawa), Skaneateles Music Festival (NY) and spent many summers as principal second of the Breckenridge Music Festival (CO). Other music festivals include Tanglewood (MA), Banff, Schleswig Holstein (Germany), Bach and Beyond (NY) and Domaine-Forget.
